Three Infamous Bandit Leaders Go Wild in Zamfara

Three infamous bandit leaders—Kachalla Dan Baba, Kachalla Abu Guddi, and Kachalla Bello Kurma—who have been wreaking havoc in Zamfara State, are reportedly experiencing a deterioration in their mental health, leading to chaos among their armed followers.

Security analyst Zagazola Malama has indicated that intelligence reports confirm this development as a significant consequence of the ongoing efforts to combat banditry in the northern region of the country.

He noted that the three commanders have recently exhibited severe psychological distress.

As a result, their gang members have disarmed them and allowed them to wander aimlessly in the forests.

This incident, which took place on March 27, 2025, has thrown their criminal factions into turmoil, raising public speculation about the possible causes of their sudden mental breakdown.

Reports indicate that Kachalla Dan Baba led a major criminal organization based in Kudo village, near Buzaya Forest in the Maru Local Government Area. He commanded over 50 fighters and was implicated in numerous kidnappings, highway ambushes, and cattle rustling incidents throughout Zamfara and surrounding areas.

Kachalla Abu Guddi, another notorious warlord, operated from Gidan Garba village in Maru LGA. He became notorious for orchestrating violent attacks on communities, resulting in civilian casualties, and for his role in arms trafficking.

Kachalla Bello Kurma conducted his operations deep within the Buzaya Forest, a well-known sanctuary for armed criminal groups in Maru LGA. Security sources describe him as one of the most ruthless bandits in the region, with ties to other terrorist organizations active in the North-West.

A source, a vigilante operative monitoring bandit activities in the area, informed Zagazola that the three leaders began displaying erratic behavior, such as talking to themselves, experiencing hallucinations, and making illogical decisions.

Witnesses report that their own fighters, sensing vulnerability and fearing for their safety, have begun to distance themselves from the leaders.
