A young man named Samuel Njoroge is currently being pursued by law enforcement following the alleged murder of Naomi Chebet, a mother of three, in Kenya.
Naomi was discovered dead in her rented apartment under suspicious circumstances on Sunday morning, leaving her family without any leads regarding the identity of her killer.
Samuel Njoroge emerged as a suspect after he posted a cryptic message on his Facebook account, which appeared to be a confession to the crime.
Naomi, who had three children with Samuel, had separated from him but reconciled in the first week of March, leading those around them to believe they were on good terms.
Her brother, Harrison, found Naomi's body with severe injuries indicative of a violent attack. He reported that a neighbor, who was on the phone around 9 PM on Saturday, March 22, observed Naomi entering the residence with Samuel.
However, the situation changed dramatically about an hour and a half later, at approximately 10:30 PM, when the neighbor saw Samuel exiting the apartment while wearing a mask.
Harrison, who works night shifts, returned home between midnight and 1 AM. Upon his arrival, he noticed Naomi lying on the couch, covered with a blanket. Assuming she was simply resting after a long day, he did not disturb her.
After some time, Harrison grew concerned when Naomi remained in the same position for an extended period. He lifted the blanket and made the horrifying discovery that his sister was unresponsive and had been dead for several hours.
Samuel then sent a chilling message stating, “Mm nilimuuwa coz ya upuzi, mbona anijibu” (translated: “I killed her because of nonsense, why isn’t she answering me?”). The words were cold and devoid of empathy. Additionally, he posted on social media: “Wewe kufa uniodokee malaya wewe.” (translated: “Die and leave me alone, you prostitute.”) This indicated a complete lack of remorse for taking Naomi's life.
As of the time of this report, Naomi's family is actively seeking justice for her tragic death.
