Man Stabs Younger Brother To Death For Slapping His Wife In Delta

The Delta State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, has verified that an individual identified only as Paul fatally stabbed his younger brother in Ugbokodo, located in the Okpe Community of the Okpe Local Government Area in Delta State.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed this information in a message sent to our correspondent in Warri.

His communication stated, "Confirmed," and indicated that the suspect has been apprehended.

On Thursday evening, the suspect, along with his son, allegedly stabbed his younger brother, Saturday, to death due to a disagreement over two thousand naira at the Ugbokodo waterside, as reported by DAILY POST.

It was reported that two thousand naira, which belonged to the suspect’s wife, went missing, leading her to accuse the deceased, who had denied stealing the money earlier that day.

She maintained that he was the culprit and seized his shirt during a heated confrontation.

During this altercation, the deceased reportedly slapped his elder brother’s wife, prompting neighbors to intervene and separate the two parties.

The woman subsequently contacted her husband, known as Papa Jeffery, who arrived at the scene in a state of anger. Without inquiring about the events that had occurred between his wife and his younger brother, he allegedly instructed one of his sons to accompany him.

They located Saturday at the waterside, where they assaulted and stabbed him multiple times, resulting in his death.

In the aftermath of the incident, enraged youths from the Ugbokodo community organized and set fire to the suspect’s residence and his wife’s shop.

The situation was brought under control only through the prompt intervention of soldiers and police officers.
